Awareness

When you are working with mindfulness you very quickly realise that the mere fact of being aware is utterly important.

In the present moment there is a wide range of opportunities of which you are aware. The focus of your attention is in your awareness.

It can be
body awareness
breathing awareness
awareness of sensations
awareness of feelings
awareness of thoughts

Which ever area you may choose for your awareness in the present moment, there is so much to – well, to be aware of.

Væven

Een af min gode venner, Lene, gav mig en væv i sommers.
At tænke sig, at få en væv foræret. WOW.

The wondering mind

For some reason meditation is often thought of as a state of mind with no thoughts.
Reality is that thoughts come and go.
Once you become aware of this natural state of thoughts and feelings and other sensations popping up in your field of consciousness you stop to criticise yourself of these thoughts. Actually, the critic is also just a thought.
Practising mindfulness is to become present, to be aware, to pay attention.
The thoughts are there, in your mind, they come and they go. Just pay attention and notice how the thought vanishes. It comes seemingly out of nothing and it vanishes again seemingly into nothing.
This is ok, this is the nature of the mind.
Be patient. Just pay attention. Be present with whatever is there.

Mindful eating

Often eating has grown into a commodity.

But actually, all the food we get is a gift. The taste is a gift.

Everything we put into our mouth we can pay attention to. Pay attention to the taste and the experience of chewing. Pay attention to the colour and smell even before we put it into our mouth.

The whole setting about eating we can look upon as a ritual, performed several times a day, a holy act that keeps us going and makes us feel well.

So.

Pay attention. Open up your awareness, open up your senses, be alive.

Wake up.

Put away your mobile phone. Turn off the television. Turn off the radio og podcast or music. Just be in the present moment while you are eating and allow yourself to be grateful for this moment.

Maybe you are eating with loved ones, a friend or two, or family. Pay attention, be aware of the precious moment and of the opportunity to be together and enjoy the meal.

The intelligence of the heart

This little video of only two minutes explains so well what it is all about!!

Love, connection, compassion. Let go. Train yourself of letting go and contact breath and body – the heart contact follows. Be patient, it is an organic proces, not i something you can by in the suoermarket.
